Introduction

The Maharashtra Forest Department, a Government Entity, is implementing various plantation campaigns to enhance tree cover in Maharashtra State. Under the Central Government’s “एक पेड माँ के नाम - Plant4Mother” campaign, the Maharashtra Government has issued a resolution (महाराष्ट्र शासन निर्णय क्रमांक वनव-2024/प्र. क्र.29/फ-11 दिनांक 18 जून 2024) to launch the “Amrutvruksh Aplya Dari” campaign during Vanmahotsava. To support this campaign, the Maharashtra Forest Department has developed the “Amrutvruksh” Android mobile app to collect information about planted saplings from various stakeholders.

Key Features of the Amrutvruksh App

• Registration via mobile OTP.
• Uploading geo-tagged photos of planted saplings.
• Distribution of a certificate signed by the Hon. Forest Minister after photo upload.
• SMS alerts for plant maintenance at 3-month intervals.
• Reminders for uploading geo-tagged photos of saplings every 6 months for 3 years.

Data Security Policy

Our data security policy covers the management and monitoring of data to protect it from unauthorized access. This policy applies to all data stored, whether on-premises, off-site, in cloud services, or on mobile devices.

Storage and File Access

• We no longer use the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission.
• The app does not request or access files outside of what is necessary for its core functionality.
• This data is also shared with the Maharashtra Forest Department’s secured server for record-keeping purposes.

Notification Permission

• We no longer use the RECEIVE_SMS permission. Users must manually input their received OTP to complete the login process.
• We use POST_NOTIFICATIONS to send app-related notifications via the Firebase console.

Mobile Device Access

We may request access to certain features of your mobile device, including location, camera, and IMEI, to provide essential app functionality. You can modify these permissions in your device settings. If not granted, the app may not work properly.

Types of Data Collected

• Personal Data: IMEI, Email address, first and last name, phone number/mobile number, location.
• This information is securely stored by the Maharashtra Forest Department and not shared with any third party.
• Usage Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visits, device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

Information Collected While Using the App

• User information like Name, Email, Mobile number for OTP, and IMEI (device ID).
• This data is securely stored and not shared with any third party.
• Location Information: Used to provide features and improve the Service. May be stored on your device or uploaded to servers.
• Usage Data: Collected automatically and may include device ID, IP address, OS, and other technical details.

Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your information (Name, Email, Mobile No) through encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Only authorized personnel have access, and data is used only for permitted functions.

Privacy Assurance

We do not collect private user information except name, email ID, and mobile number. The data is owned by the Maharashtra Forest Department, Government of Maharashtra, and used solely for record-keeping and plantation information accuracy. Data deletion is not provided.
